About This Lesson
After reading the book SNOWBALLS, students analyze the artwork from the book and then create a Bird Collage. Artists will collage a variety of elements by creating different components using a variety of techniques. Artists will explore line, color and texture as they scrape paint with cardboard, use pastels, watercolors, trace templates, trim and glue. Students, parents and administration are very impressed with the results of this project. Students can also learn about the seasons as they create bare Winter trees in the snow or Spring trees with leaves.
