Logical thinking to solve problems involving fitting pentominoes into grids.Can fit nicely into transformations (rotation; symmetry; enlargement; translation and tessellation) if you look for it or create it in each shape.I advise the sheets are printed and then laminated so students can work with a board pen to try different arrangements.
Pentominoes are not a new idea but the challenge of fitting them into a rectangle has always been too hard for most students. This resource breaks that down into smaller, more manageable parts. Very useful for just after you've got a class to find all the different pentominoes. Thanks very much.
