About This Lesson

Students will learn about the role of kami in the indigenous Japanese religion of Shintoism. Then they will write a short essay detailing an area in which we need better protection in the United States, along with a plan for increasing protection with respect to this concern.

This lesson is not appropriate for lower grade students. It requires developing an increased amount of background knowledge in students in order to understand the concept of developing a protection plan for the United States. This resource needs to be thought out more thoroughly.
