About This Lesson

A fun, quick game to encourage mental agility in handling of quantities of money. This TESiboard activity is one of a pair of money sharing activities. Notes and coins can be changed in the machine to be shared to the children. This game provides a single note and requires it to be shared exactly to the children to the amounts each is requesting. The partner game takes a more equal approach. Note: you can empty coins back out of the piggy banks, one at a time.

Use the change machine to split up £1, £5 or £10 between 2, 3 or 4 children respectively. Each child has a different total to reach. A very useful demonstration of how coins and notes can be exchanged for different coins, whilst remaining the same overall value, as well as encouraging discussion and problem solving skills in order to give each child the correct total and complete the task.
