About This Lesson

The terrorist attacks on 9/11 had a dramatic impact on the political landscape in the United States. The focus shifted from domestic issues to national security and the initial partisan unity after the election dissolved into an edge for President Bush and the Republican party. Five years later, public support of the war had soured and Democrats were back into the White House. Listen to learn how partisan politics have shifted in the years since September 11th.
