It helps student get all the basic feature in correct place.This gives student rough proportions and adjustment is needed depending on subject observed; I use this system to stop eyes being drawn in the forehead and lips in the chin.As with all drawing techniques its is important that the teacher demonstrates the technique in the class as this gives the students more confidence.
