About This Lesson

Little t-shirts with probability comments on them to be pegged on the washing line to introduce the probability scale. I color coded the different types of statements by backing so that I could differentiate; giving the mathematical probabilities to the most able as they had to justify where they pegged them up.

Used this with a very mixed group of adult learners to introduce topic of probability. Engaging resource that covers lots of concepts and opens the topic up for discussion.

Brilliant idea! Much better than getting a folded piece of paper and hanging it over the line. Thank you for sharing.

Would really work as a class activity at the beginning of the probability unit, or as a small group activity that would lend to class discussion afterwards.
