About This Lesson
School personnel are not expected to provide bereavement counseling to children, but rather to provide bereavement support. They are, if well prepared, in an excellent position to help families identify and access bereavement resources in their community. This module describes the unique role that school professionals can play to support grieving students, both in the immediate aftermath of a loss as well as over time as children come to understand and cope with their loss.
