About This Lesson
The Pythagorean Theorem is one of the first geometry equations we learn and it has a variety of applications. Often these applications use the Pythagorean theorem to find the hypotenuse of a right triangle from two known lengths that make up the base and height of a right triangle.
In this lesson plan, we will discuss 4 different formulas in finding the following using the Pythagorean Theorem:
- distance between points
- equilateral triangle
- semicircle
- area of squares
All formulas are illustrated with images and sample problems for better understanding.
