About This Lesson

These two short films, Restorative Justice: Why Do We Need It and Restorative Justice: Choice For A Change, highlight how restorative justice offers a better alternative to victims AND offenders than our current punitive justice system.

There is a commonly held belief that all survivors of violent crime want offenders to be thrown into jail.
However, survivors are made of a diverse array of people with a much wider array of needs. On top of that, people in prison are left to a cycle that perpetually leads them back to crime and back to a life behind bars.

This series seeks to demonstrate how restorative justice programs not only provide much needed closure for crime survivors but also prevent future crimes from being committed by offenders.

As a nonprofit organization, your feedback makes it possible for us to report our impact and secure funding to continue to provide free educational resources and films for your school, house of worship, group meeting, or organization: http://bit.ly/PRE_RJ
