About This Lesson

This is a 5 day Road to Revolution unit where students will be answering the following essential question: Were the colonists justified in declaring independence from Great Britain? In order to answer that question they will examine evidence including defining the concept of revolution, the French and Indian War, British Acts and taxes with colonists reactions, and primary source document analysis. The lesson set culminates with a structured class debate on the whether or not independence should have been declared. All instructions, graphics, handouts, and notes are included. .
