About This Lesson

This packet summarizes the roaring 20s into four categories: End of WWI and Treaty of Versailles, Red Scare and Immigration restrictions, Amendments to the Constitution influenced by temperance and women's suffrage movements, and consumer spending/stock market speculation. For each category, there is a summary of the events with important vocabulary defined followed by some multiple choice questions from the New York State Regents Exam. At the end is an essay assignment about WHY the 1920s were called "roaring". The last page is a rubric that can be used to evaluate the essay.
