About This Lesson
This handout contains excerpts from the Sadler Report which interviews three workers who worked in factories or mills. They explain what working conditions were like. The assignment is for students to SCUBA (Scan for titles, Circle words they don't understand, Underline important facts, Box names and dates, and Annotate questions or comments), and also to annotate what the perspectives, motives, and biases are of the Sadler Commission's questions.
