Give these challenge cards to children as part of a mental starter or plenary to encourage children’s mental addition skills. Starting with the number on the blue square, students need to find a path through a selection of numbers, which, when added together, make the target number. Children can go through as many or as few squares as they wish and the path can go vertically, horizontally and diagonally. This engaging and fun resource is useful for all ages.
