About This Lesson
Students imagine they are Boxers, Foreigners in China, Sepoys, or British governors in India. They create a 3 step plan for either rebellion or suppressing a rebellion. They must predict how the opposition will react to their plans and then plan next steps. When each group has a plan, they meet with the opposition, hear their plans, and then explain if their plan would have worked. I've divided up the activity into just a Sepoy Mutiny and just a Boxer Rebellion activity in the second two documents, and the last document is a shorter version of the Sepoy Mutiny activity.
