About This Lesson

Students will learn about horizontal and vertical lines as well as creating a pattern. Students will understand contrasting colors in order to create a pattern with overlapping lines and circles. This is the perfect lesson to integrate math and art while having fun. Aligned to Common Core State Standards: K.G.2, 1.G.2

Correctly name shapes regardless of their orientations or overall size.
Compose two-dimensional shapes (rectangles, squares, trapezoids, triangles, half-circles, and quarter-circles) or three-dimensional shapes (cubes, right rectangular prisms, right circular cones, and right circular cylinders) to create a composite shape, and compose new shapes from the composite shape.
