About This Lesson

Two sets of cards: cations and anions; in square brackets with charge and name. Students need to draw the valence electrons as a Lewis Dot for the anions. I ask students to use dots for the anion's own electrons and crosses for those it has received. Ss can use the cards to deduce the formula of an ionic compound by balancing the charges. Nothing special; but might save you time in putting a document like this together.
