This is useful for teachers for give students an introduction the the underground railroad. I know the resource explains why there aren't many recorded stories of the underground railroad to due illiteracy and secrecy, however, there are some primary sources that can be included. There are also songs that were sung to explain the passage to the north without alerting slave owners and the overseers, such as "Follow the Drinking Gourd." Playing the song or looking at the lyrics could be interesting for the students.
