About This Lesson
The Task: Students analyzed the song What’s Going on by Marvin Gaye. They used a graphic organizer with a close reading protocol to write about their thinking. Then students discussed and made connections to things that are happening in the world today. Student displayed their knowledge by creating their own song, poem, rap, or dialogue to represent their understanding of these civic concepts.
