About This Lesson

A TES iboard 'tree-sort' activity to develop knowledge and understanding of shape properties. Taking the shapes in small groups (or one-by-one) design a question to split the shapes e.g. does it have 4 sides? This question will form the top of the tree diagram. Now make a 2nd question and keep moving the shapes down until only one is on each branch. Note: we recommend doing this activity with a few shapes until children are confident with the concept.
