About This Lesson

This handout is a list of vocabulary words and terms associated with Islam and the Islamic Caliphates (and taken directly from the New York State Global History and Geography Regents Exam) and then several primary and secondary source documents about Islam's history during the Golden Age and spread to West Africa including maps. Documents about Cordoba in Spain, Mali, Songhai, Umayyad and Abbasid Caliphates, and the House of Wisdom in Baghdad.
