Stand Up, Sit Down helps students explore the similarities and differences in the class through visual representations. This activity can be used as an opening/closing ritual or a getting-to-know-you game. This is my go-to plan for the first day of school. Great to keep kids moving a little on a famously "sit and listen" day, as well as build community.
