About This Lesson

President Barack Obama was sworn in to office for his second term Martin Luther King Day. MLK, Jr. said, "I've seen levels of compliance with the civil rights bill and changes that have been most surprising. So, on the basis of this, I think we may be able to get a Negro President in less than 40 years. I would think that this could come in 25 years or less." While Obama was the first African-American President, what else do we know about our Presidents? This activity on the history of the presidents will lead us in an exploration of the statistics behind the Presidents and ask you to do some research. PRE_LP

Good Cross curricular activity for math and social studies. Students use a graphing calculator for various statistical facts such as the ages of presidents.

It would be nice to see a social studies lesson plan with this resource as well.
