Did you know? Immigrants have helped build America from the ground up. This symbol of freedom and democracy, the Statue of Liberty has been welcoming immigrants and visitors to New York Harbour since 1875. However, France offered to build the monumental statue, America agreed to construct the base but things didn’t quite go according to plan!
