About This Lesson
Students Rebuild
Created in January 2010 in response to the devastating Haiti earthquake, Students Rebuild has mobilized thousands of young people in 83 countries and all 50 United States and raised more than $3 million in matching funds for various causes around the world.
Through annual Challenges, Students Rebuild tackles some of the world's most difficult problems, issues that one cannot affect alone. We believe every young person should have an opportunity to help others. We believe in coming together in order to make a collective impact.
Students Rebuild is a collaborative program of the Bezos Family Foundation. Our Challenges inspire young people to create a simple, symbolic object which the Foundation matches with funding.
Facing Difference Challenge
Every day teachers help their students to exchange ideas and acknowledge different perspectives and opinions about the world around them. Directly and indirectly, teachers serve as ambassadors of understanding and tolerance. They cultivate these skills in young people for them to use both inside the classroom and out. And these skills are needed now more than ever.
That's why Students Rebuild in partnership with Search for Common Ground, CARE, and Global Nomads Group, is asking teachers around the world to participate in this year's Facing Difference Challenge, designed to help educators empower young people to reflect and take action towards building understanding, empathy, and peace.

While you can always customize your engagement to meet your team’s needs, if you are new to Students Rebuild, or just looking for some guidance about how to approach the Challenge with your team, we have created the following roadmaps to help.
