About This Lesson

This English Holocaust-education resource can be used to introduce students to the Holocaust or complement the History Holocaust education program within secondary schools.  It contains 20 English lesson ideas/units of work complementing any Holocaust text.  Each lesson explores a rich theme relating to understanding human behavior. These include: identity, survival, resistance, resilience, freedom etc. and at the same time develops English/literacy skill sets. The resource also provides information on considerations in selecting an appropriate text, a Holocaust-text bibliography for high schools and pedagogical and assessment consideration specific to teaching the Holocaust. The units of work position students actively, allowing them to reflect and make meaning, relevance and connections. See: https://fuse.education.vic.gov.au/?TTGYP2
