Activity 1: NOTECARD ACTIVITY
This is a fantastic activity while students are settling into a class – short and thoughtful. It focuses on the two-way
nature of mentorship; just as Dumbledore mentored Harry, so Harry mentored the students in Dumbledore’s
Army. After the activity, you can use the notecards as a display in the classroom or organization, or, with consent,
post them to the #TeachMeYouDid website.
Activity 2: DEAR YODA: PERSONAL LETTER-WRITING
This activity involves students writing a personal letter to their mentor or teacher. The activity itself is fun and
inspirational, but students should also be encouraged to share the letters with the people they wrote about!
Activity 3: MAPPING THE #TEACHMEYOUDID GALAXY
An essential part of understanding the universe is mapping it out. Similarly, we can map out the traits of our
mentors! This way, we can awaken the Force in us all.
Activity 4: STORYCORPS CONVERSATIONS
In this activity, students will interview each other about people who have awakened the force within them. They
will use the StoryCorps app to record their conversations and post to the internet.
Activity 5: STAR WARS EPISODE 8: STUDENT VIDEO BLOG PROJECT
In this activity, students will become the JJ Abrams of their own video blog! The blogs will be YouTube style –
scripted, but easy to edit and fun to make. Let the Force of Movie-Making awaken!
