About This Lesson
A handout inspired by a great book called ‘One is a Snail; Ten is a Crab' by April Sayre. A lovely way to introduce tens & units or partitioning. Aligned with Common Core State Standards: 1.NBT.4, Number and Operations in Base Ten.

This works even without the book and is easily adaptable for differentiation, I even added a Sally Centipede for the G&T kids!
This is a much nicer way of showing tens and units than drawing rods of ten blocks and single cubes on a sheet! Thank you. You have just brightened up my math lesson! All i need now is to get my hands on the book you mentioned..... :-)
