About This Lesson

Under two different Commanders-in-Chief, the U.S. has been at war in Afghanistan for the past 13 years, making it the longest war in U.S. history. President Barack Obama announced this year that U.S. forces will withdraw from that country by the end of 2016. In the wake of the President’s announcement, Americans are debating the proper course of action going forward and trying to draw lessons from the war.
