About This Lesson

OBJECTIVE: To have students analyze and evaluate the significance of preservation of American monuments and the role of revisionist history thereon.
AIM: How do political, economic and social decisions impact the significance of American monuments?

Students will explore a timeline of events leading to the construction of the monument, including images of obelisks, completing graphic organizer identifying key decisions - specific emphasis on significance of monuments and revisionist history.
