About This Lesson

Students will look at the delicate carvings on the Palace Façade and go back in time to imagine working for Sayyed Akbar Shah, the first and only King of Swat, in the 1200s. They will then take on the lives of construction workers today in order to compare the two experiences and get a sense of continuity and change over time.

This lesson would be best for older elementary and middle school students.
