About This Lesson
CER's (The Center for Education Reform) special professional development program for teachers, “Why America?: Toward a More Perfect Union" is designed to help guide teachers in processing what it takes to achieve “a more perfect union,” and specifically what it means to have first amendment rights and responsibilities. “Why America?” is an initiative designed to help teachers better instruct their elementary and middle school students about the American Constitution, why it was instituted, and how it works. Alongside free access, getting to interact with different influential speakers, and obtaining access to numerous online resources to help guide teaching, teachers will be able to get a certificate from CER and CredEd. Teachers will be able to collect credits as the component lectures and seminars will provide Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
The next event in our virtual series is this Thursday, October 8th at 5:00pm EDT. Join us for a discussion, moderated by Ian Rowe, on how we can equip schools and teachers with the tools to reach and teach students about America’s founding principles in the midst of the current civil unrest and political divisions
