About This Lesson
World Book Day is celebrated by book lovers all over the world on April 23. This yearly event was started by UNESCO in 1995 and takes place on the anniversary of the deaths of English playwright William Shakespeare and Peruvian author Inca Garcilaso de la Vega. World Book Day is a celebration of all things literary, inviting people to dress up, participate in, and enjoy books of all types, ages, and genres!
