Morningside Center works hand in hand with educators to help young people develop the values, personal qualities, and skills they need to thrive and contribute to their communities. A national leader in the field of social & emotional learning (SEL), Morningside Center has developed research-based programs that improve skills in self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, & social engagement. Since 1982, Morningside Center has worked with educators and young people (pre-K to 12) in over 700 schools in NYC and beyond.
Morningside Center created TeachableMoment.org to provide teachers with lessons and activities to help students think critically about current events, and develop their social & emotional skills. TeachableMoment includes hundreds of classroom lessons, with new, timely lessons on issues in the news posted weekly through the school year.
