Audra McPhillips has proudly served students in the West Warwick Public Schools (WWPS) for 25 years. She taught first grade, sixth grade, and high school mathematics leading to her current role as the District Mathematics Specialist and Coach PreK-12. Audra also serves as the Executive VIce President of the West Warwick Teachers Alliance (WWTA) Local 1017 and is incredibly honored to contribute to the positive labor management collaboration between the WWPS and the WWTA. Audra is a National Trainer and content developer for AFT's Educational Research and Dissemination Program in all three of their Thinking Mathematics Professional Development Modules. She was a member of the AFT National Review Team for the Common Core Mathematics Standards and was featured on the Teaching Channel for AFT’s Math Reasoning series. Audra is an adjunct professor at Johnson and Wales University in the School of Education and she proudly serves on EdReports Board of Directors. Audra is also a facilitator, content developer and facilitator coach for UnboundEd’s Mathematics Pathway. She is thrilled to be part of I-ACTs work because this team is committed to challenging the status quo and disrupting systems and mindsets in our schools so that all students will be able to bring their authentic selves to their learning communities and have the opportunity to not just survive, but truly thrive.
