Amy Memminger has been a teacher in the Dearborn Public Schools for 20 years. Although most of her time was spent teaching American Government, Civics, and A.P. Government and Politics, she has also spent considerable time teaching literature and writing courses.
Amy was fortunate enough be selected as the Dearborn community's Secondary Teacher of the Year in 2014.
Beyond the classroom Amy has earned a B.A. in English, and a Master's in the Art of Teaching. She has also fulfilled the requirements of a second Master's in Teaching English as a Second Language. Just recently Amy has earned a graduate certificate in Library Science and now is a teacher Librarian in Dearborn. She has been serving as a National Civics Fellow for the Albert Shankar Institute since 2022.
When not teaching, Amy travels the world and has been to over 80 countries. She considers her cultural knowledge and competence an asset that helps her connect with kids and their families.
