The FoodPrints program is grounded in tackling the syndemic of obesity, climate change, and hunger across Washington, DC by embedding food education in 19 public elementary schools with a focus on historically underserved areas. In addition, FoodPrints has also developed a comprehensive food education curriculum with 63 hands-on interdisciplinary lessons (and instructional videos) for grades PK-5th grade that support Science, ELA, and Math Instruction, and Whole Child Learning. FoodPrints is the education program FRESHFARM, a nonprofit that innovates solutions to create a thriving and sustainable regional food system through an integrated approach to food production, distribution, and education.
