I have been working in the ECE field for 36 years, and have been working alongside many talented colleagues. I decided to take the opportunity and continue my education in the field and take a position as a professional educator because I believe that I have a great understanding of how we can improve and guide our students and communities into greatness. I believe that every person should have the opportunity to learn and grow at the highest possible potential they can. And that means that we all have the opportunity to learn and grow from our experiences and that we have the same dedication to our students and ourselves. I went to college in the beginning to become a victims advocate and I changed my perspective when I was on a ride a long with the police department. And I had to help arrest a young man who was bigger than myself. I realized that he had the opportunity to become violent and I wouldn’t have been able to handle him. I did have other officers with me, but I was terrified! So from that moment on I knew I was not cut out for police work. I was already working in the child care industry and thought that maybe it might be best for me to stick with the smaller people in our world. And so here I am. I absolutely love what I do and am grateful to have been able to work with such amazing families, colleagues and people. Who also want or have the same dedication as myself, and see children succeed and thrive. I have been able to see my students progress through their learning journey and their progress through play, academics, and engaging in activities that have helped them develop skills to be successful at achieving their goals and dreams. I have watched many students grow up and become successful in many careers, and that for me is evidence that I am where I need to be. I continue to work hard on my own abilities and I am still learning myself every day; and I know that my ability to be productive in the classroom and in the community is what makes me happy.
