About This Webinar

Join Facing History and Ourselves and Share My Lesson for a webinar on how to foster civil discourse.

There has been much conversation about the need to foster civil discourse: in our government, in our media, and in our classrooms and communities. In this webinar, we will model strategies designed to help you as educators navigate these challenging times, effective address current events in your classroom, and support your students in developing effective skills for civic participation.

Discover teaching strategies that provide space for diverse viewpoints; establish a safe space for sensitive topics; encourage active, engaged listening; and foster student reflection.

Professional Credit

Available for one-hour of PD credit. A certificate of completion will be available for download at the end of your session that you can submit for your school's or district's approval.

Share My Lesson is now a New York State Education Department-approved provider for Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) requirements and an Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) approved Professional Development provider.
