We always do mathematics within a larger context, and communicating mathematically takes more than just the ability to problem solve. In this session, you will closely examine primary source graphs and charts from the Library of Congress and consider the math content and lessons that can be drawn from them. We’ll also discuss the context within which these representations were made to connect their history and design across multiple disciplines. This interactive session will highlight classroom strategies that can be used virtually or in person, to engage students at many levels.
Available for one-hour of PD credit. A certificate of completion will be available for download at the end of your session that you can submit for your school's or district's approval.
