About This Lesson
This is a first grade ELA Unit, Lesson 3 out of 12. All About Living Things: Learning to Navigate and Create Informational Texts - Introducing All-About Books. This lesson introduces students to the term Informational Text, and asks students to answer questions about key details in the book. By the end of first grade students will be expected to do this without prompting and support but as this unit takes place early in the year, it is important that students experience success, so the teacher may need to prompt and support.
