About This Lesson

Students will study and analyze visual images using Facing History’s strategy for visual rhetoric. Students will also be assessed on their ability analyze a visual text and incorporate the elements of analysis into writing. Each student will be expected to analyze text, create a “story” out of its elements, and incorporate language techniques in their writing. Students will synthesize information about memoirs, narrative techniques, language techniques, and the use of visuals to begin planning their own personal narrative.
