About This Lesson
In this lesson, students will conduct a close reading of three fine art selections that each deal with “the Art of Giving” in some way. The purpose of this lesson is to teach students how to conduct a close reading of visual texts using the OPTIC strategy for the analysis of visual and graphic texts. The artwork used in this lesson corresponds thematically with the literary texts in this unit, providing students with a multi-disciplinary approach to the subject.
