About This Lesson

The 9/11 attacks would cause a shift in the way terrorist organizations like al-Qaeda were being tracked and stopped by intelligence agencies. Use this lesson plan to explore the question: How did counterterrorism measures evolve in the immediate aftermath of 9/11?

In this lesson, students will:

  • Explore how intelligence agencies tracked Osama bin Laden over the course of 10 years.
  • Discuss how changes in strategy and technology impacted the hunt for Osama bin Laden.

Lesson plans include interactive images, videos, and links, that are best viewed directly from our website using the link in the resources tab.
