About This Lesson

The learner will be able to associate a number of objects with a numeral.

The teacher will call for the attention of the students and ask them to stand quietly in a circle.  The teacher will tell the class that they are going to pretend to be scuba divers while they count to ten.  The teacher will model how to hold their noses and wiggle down to the ground while counting one, and then repeat for two, etc.  The teacher will lead the class in the movements until they count all the way to ten.  The teacher will then tell the class that today, they are going to take turn counting bocks and then placing the blocks with the corresponding number on the Math&Movement 1-10 mat.
