"The Dark is Rising" Close Reading - Lesson 5

In Lesson 5 of The Dark Is Rising, the students will examine two related texts from two different chapters of the novel. The purpose of this lesson is for students to do a close reading of the selected texts, answer text-dependent questions on these texts with evidence cited to support their answers, and to analyze a literary device that the author uses to strengthen the novel’s impact in relating the events occurring when Will reads this strange book.
