About This Lesson

A study guide to the Paramount Pictures film Defiance, based on the true story of the Bielski brothers, who rescued more than 1,200 Jews by waging a guerrilla war against the Nazis in western Poland. Classroom activities explore the many dimensions of heroism, the many forms of Jewish resistance to the Holocaust, and the moral dilemmas of those dark days.
