About This Lesson

Harness the power of first-person stories using this video and attached viewing guide to facilitate a guided discussion with your students about the 9/11 attacks.

Joseph Pfiefer was the first chief from the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) to arrive at the World Trade Center on the morning of 9/11. His brother, Kevin Pfeifer, was one of the 343 members of the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) who would be killed that day.

This story was filmed as part of our Anniversary Digital Learning Experience (DLE), which introduces students to first-person accounts of the 9/11 attacks. For more information, click here.
