About This Lesson
This lesson centers on the 5 functions of government. Students will be placed in 5 groups of 4 students to work collaboratively to research and create a presentation on one of the following topics: Public Goods and Services; Social-Insurance Programs; Public-Assistance Programs; Regulating Economic Activity; and Ensuring Economic Stability After students are given one of the governmental functions, they will be tasked with using the Interne The Functions of Government t to research a specific good, service, policy or program that relates to their assigned topic. Once they have agreed that they have gathered enough information, each group will use either a word processing program or a desktop publishing program to create a pamphlet that explains the government function that their group researched.
