About This Lesson
The lesson can be used in History classes, it can be part of the Holocaust education module or a module teaching about history of persecution and oppression. The lesson introduces students to the life of the Jews in Europe. It focuses on individual experiences during and after World War II. Students learn about the persecution of the Jews through the story of the survivor and her family. The lesson uses a Centropa film based on the original family photos and narration of the survivor, “The Story of Tamara Koblik”, to help students reflect on the role of family photos and family values for the people who were subjects to persecution.
